The Vaganova Ballet Academy presents this DVD of the graduation exam in Pas de Deux. The exam is conducted by Mr. Konstantin Zaklinsky, a former leading dancer in the Kirov ballet company. Presented in the same classroom Vaganova taught in, several students demonstrate over ten different long Pas de Deux variations that include every ballet partnering step imaginable. This end of the year exam is intended to show the level of ability these young dancers have achieved. There is no slow break down of these dances and all the movements are done with live piano accompaniment. Many of these graduating dancers will join major dance companies through out the world. Each variation is performed full out with no explanation or corrections. This is partnering at the finest level and inspiring to watch.
